A global forum
AgriVision ’23 has immersed participants in a protein-centric forum designed to inspire and illuminate pathways for assuring sufficient and sustainable protein today and tomorrow. The global forum has blended provocative ideas with pragmatic application as business leaders, NGOs, scientists, policymakers, innovators, and disruptors of convention explored lucent strategies to safeguard the future of protein and our planet.
Since the inaugural AgriVision in 2000, the gathering has provided a platform for stakeholders across the feed-to-food chain to rethink traditional approaches to livestock farming, encourage the exchange of emerging knowledge on sustainable food production, and elucidate the specific factors and motives influencing an ever-evolving food system.
Part thinktank, part networking platform, part catalyst for transformation, AgriVision ‘23 has spotlighted the urgency of future proofing protein and brought new solutions to light.
Venue - Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin
Participants that attended the 2023 AgriVision gathered 26-28 June at the Grand Hotel Huis Ter Duin in Noordwijk, the Netherlands. An iconic seaside gem perched along the dunes of the Netherlands’ west coast, the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin is steeped in more than a century of tradition.
Imagined in the 1880s as a resort destination that would help grow the local economy beyond fishing, the Huis ter Duin of Tappenbeck catered to guests of nobility and title, including representatives of the House of Orange and members of the Belgian Royal Palace.
As more resorts were developed and competition on the coastline increased during the mid-20th century, the hotel experienced hardships. Developers’ efforts to demolish the hotel were thwarted by the city council of Noordwijk and in 1984 the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin was renovated by its current owner and reopened by Princess Margriet.
The resiliency of the hotel was tested again in 1990 when a fire caused extensive damage. Subsequent reconstruction achieved a structure meeting the highest demands of visitors and resident guests. Today, the Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin has integrated sustainability into its mission statement and regularly measures its initiatives against the sustainable development goals set by the United Nations in 2015.

Who's behind AgriVision?
Nutreco is a global leader in animal nutrition through our Trouw Nutrition division, and in aquaculture through our Skretting division.
Feeding the Future – is our reason for being. It is centred around the reality that our global population is growing rapidly and we will need to produce more food to feed them, without depleting the planet’s resources. This is an enormous challenge that we share across the feed-to-food chain, and we are committed to playing our part.
We believe that only by working together, across our companies and across geographies, we can drive transformation in how our industry operates. Feeding the Future is also more than our purpose – it’s a call to action to everyone in our field of business to make a fundamental shift in how we think about the consumption, production and waste of food, across the feed-to-food chain.
