Venue and travel information

We are happy to welcome you to the third LifeStart Calf Symposium in the East Midlands Conference Centre, conveniently located only ten minutes from the centre of Nottingham. Please see below some practical information on how to get to the venue from the airport as well as some local companies you can contact to hire transportation.

East Midlands Conference Centre

The venue offers to perfect location to host most of the exciting things planned for this event: our welcome reception, presentations during our two-day symposium, banquet dinner and all of the networking opportunities in between.

Located on the University of Nottingham Campus which is situated in 330 acres of green space. The university has always been recognised as one of the best and most attractive university campuses in the UK. With a special emphasis on environmental sustainability, supporting the City of Nottingham's desire to be a net zero carbon city by 2028.

Trains from the airports to Nottingham aren’t ideal as they tend to require several changes. London Heathrow involves going into Central London and then using the underground to get to Kings Cross – St Pancras to get the train to Nottingham.

The best train to take can already depend on which terminal and time of arrival you have. To ensure you find the best option we advise you to use the Heathrow Journey Planner, which gives you all available travel options from the airport. Arriving at Gatwick Airport? They have a similar journey planner to use: Gatwick Journey Planner.

To find out about train details, also from different locations, you can go to www.thetrainline.co.uk to find routes/times/prices. The train station is in central Nottingham so you would need to take a tram or pick up a taxi from the train station taxi rank to get to the University campus/hotel.

From East Midlands Airport there is a good bus service timetable - skylink Nottingham - run by trentbarton which stops at the University campus as well as central Nottingham. Up to 3 an hour during the day and one an hour through the night.

From London Heathrow, there are regular coaches, some of which stop at the University campus as well as city centre Coach Travel & Airport Transfers | National Express

From Birmingham Airport, the travel options are quite limited. National Express have one bus a day to Nottingham city centre but it is late at night (22:55 arriving 00:40):  Coach Travel & Airport Transfers | National Express

Manchester Airport, unfortunately, has no direct service to get to Nottingham. Please have a look at the local transportation companies below to help select your best travel option.
