Feed specialities are low-volume, high-precision and high-value products. They include premixes, special feeds for transitional phases such as gestation and weaning, feeds to complement home-grown cereals, farm minerals, feed ingredients and animal health products. Premix
The turnover of premix represents well over half of Trouw Nutrition International's total turnover in feed specialities. Clear growth potential is present in new markets as well as in developing and commercialising technical feed additives.
TNI premixes are available at various inclusion rates and for different species. In addition, the Greenline concept provides synergistic blends of nutritional ingredients to support gut health. Specific Greenline within supplements per species are developed to optimise animal performance.
Young animal feeds
Young animal feeds are part of the Trouw Nutrition International core product range.
It requires profound knowledge and expertise to develop specialist products for a crucial phase in the animal's life. To support the growing process, gut health, development of immune response system, etc. A market-winning product is MilkiweanTM piglet feed, which results in smooth and stress-free weaning. For ruminants it is matched by Milkivit®, a vegetable-based milk replacer for calves, goats and lambs.
Feed ingredients
Trouw Nutrition International's proprietary feed ingredients are effective value added ingredients for animal diets. In 2006, TNIbetain was added to the portfolio of carefully selected feed additives. TNIbetain is an important product to support gut health in all animal species and is essential to osmoregulation. In fish Betain plays an important role in the transition from freshwater to seawater.
Optimin® chelated minerals represent the latest knowledge on optimising mineral nutrition while reducing waste. NovaSilTMplus toxin binders are successful products to deal with aflatoxin problems in feeds and feed raw materials. Protimax® is a unique feed supplement for calves and pigs, based on specialised egg protein. The egg is a natural and nutritional delivery system, rich in antibodies. Our Selko® products like Fylax and Fysal preserve raw materials and animal feed. An optimum stomach and intestinal flora is the result of using the Selacid and Selko PH product ranges. These acidifiers limit the negative effects of gut pathogens.
Animal health products
Throughout the years, animal health products have formed an intrinsic part of TNI's product portfolio. Furthermore, Farm-O-San and ProgenosTM have shown perfect results. Farm-O-San assists in relieving problems like poor fertility, fatty liver syndrome, respiration problems or udder infections. This range includes problem-solving products for on-farm use in dairy, poultry and swine. Progenos, a nutritional supplement for gestating sows, helps capitalizing on increased genetic potential of today's hybrid sows by reducing early embryonic mortality. It helps an increased nutrient supply in the sow’s uterus.
Pet food
Trouw Nutrition International's in-house petfood brand, Arion®, is specially formulated dry food for dogs and cats. Available in premium and standard varieties, Arion products contain the right nutrition to perfectly meet the needs of pets. The products are free from artificial colourants and are all produced on dedicated drug-free lines.
Nutritional services
Amongst its nutritional services Trouw Nutrition International offers Minlink®, a computer model that gives farmers customised advice on their mineral feeding strategy.
Nutri-opt, a computer software tool, developed by the Nutreco research centre calculates protein levels in broiler feeds, depending on broiler meat prices. This enables maximum bottom line profitability for large broiler integrations.
Masterlab measures the quality control of feeds and feed raw material. Located in the Netherlands and Spain, Masterlab is equipped with the most modern analysis and testing methods. It houses one of the largest databases for raw material and feed analysis.
