The Ruminant Research Centre is located in Boxmeer, the Netherlands, where a dedicated group of researchers and technicians with competencies in dairy cattle nutrition and feed management are working together. Besides an office, there is the research farm, called 'the Kempenshof' and access to Nutreco laboratories.
An example of a product developed for Trouw Nutrition International is Minlink -Maximum Care - Minimum Waste. A program to calculate the optimal mineral requirements, so that a minimum of minerals is wasted in the environment and a maximum is of use to the animal.

A continuous service by Trouw Nutrition International is the ruminant ration calculation model Rumenac. Ration optimisation aims to match the feed offered to ruminants with their specific nutrient requirements in order to optimise production, health and efficiency of production. Rumenac is constantly updated by the Ruminant Research Centre with the newest scientific information and new parameters are introduced.
A project on farm management level is Dairy Management Support (DMS), as part of the Nutreco Ruminant Academy. DMS gives objective critical control points that discuss important phases / activities in the life cycle of a cow (i.e. calf heifer rearing, dry period, milk production, reproduction, cow comfort, udder health and claw health). And these control points, based on scientific literature, form a system that makes it possible to do a HACCP analysis on a farm with an interdisciplinary approach.
