Research and Development activities are centrally organised within Nutreco to create synergy and economy of scale advantages for the business units. Via this network, Trouw Nutrition International has access to eight Nutreco research centres, where feed ingredient research and nutritional research for ruminants, calves, fish, pigs, poultry and rabbits is done. The eighth research centre of Nutreco is the Food Research Centre, which is active in meat processing technology, new product development and innovative packaging. Trouw Nutritional International operating companies participate actively in the product development network by identifying customers' needs and market opportunities. Products and concepts are centrally developed and then adapted and marketed to local conditions.
